Huy Pham, MPH joined the Center for Victims of Torture in February 2017. Prior to CVT, Huy worked for a number of NGOs, including the American Refugee Committee, Save the Children, and The Advocates for Human Rights. Huy brings experience in program management (including the areas of crisis and natural disaster response), refugee issues, collaborating across agencies, and budget management. Among his responsibilities at A.R.C., he worked on the organization’s response to the crisis in Syria, Ebola in Liberia, and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. At Save the Children, Huy was the Country Director for Vietnam, where he consolidated five different country programs into one and led policy advocacy efforts focusing on health systems and nutrition, among other areas.
Huy earned his BS in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, and his Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia. Huy is a Vietnam War refugee and settled in the U.S. in 1975.
