Nancy J. Murakami, DSW, MSW, LCSW

Dr. Murakami is an assistant professor at Pacific University in Oregon, USA, where she teaches across the master of social work curriculum. She is a licensed clinical social worker with domestic and international experience in direct practice, program development, supervision, and training in the fields of trauma and refugee mental health and psychosocial wellbeing. She is a technical advisor and clinical supervisor for Friends of Kisoro, a community-based organization in Uganda that provides psychosocial support to refugees and communities around the refugee camp. She has held clinical and leadership positions at the Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture in NYC and at Burma Border Projects in Thailand. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from New York University and Master of Social Work from Columbia University.
