The Center for Victims of Torture’s National Capacity Building Project and our partner, The Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, are excited to provide a one-day online symposium for all ORR SOT Grant Recipient providers. This training, held on October 10, 2024, offered a comprehensive exploration of trauma-informed care principles specifically tailored to support survivors of torture (SOT). Focusing on the unique needs of this vulnerable population, the session aims to enhance service delivery by integrating lessons learned from Communities of Practice (CoP) groups.
Participants will benefit from the following:
- Engaging, Inspirational Lectures: Hear from experts in trauma-informed care who will share insights and strategies that are proven to make a difference in the lives of SOT patients.
- National Peer Discussions: Engage in valuable discussions with SOT care providers across the country, exchanging ideas and exploring solutions together.
- Specialized Training on Trauma-Informed Care: Gain an in-depth understanding of trauma-informed principles, tailored to improve and support SOT care.
This program is ideal for clinicians, mental health professionals, and support staff dedicated to improving care outcomes for survivors of torture through compassionate, trauma-sensitive approaches.
Learning Objective: Teach TIC, provide lessons learned from CoP Groups for enhancing SOT services.
