We invite you to the unveiling of the Switchboard Evidence Database, a new resource designed to meet the needs of refugee service providers seeking to implement evidence-based practices. This training will discuss what evidence-based services are, what role they can play in your programs, and how Switchboard’s new Evidence Database can help you quickly and easily find evidence relevant to your work. 

Is this webinar for me? This webinar is aimed at front-line and management staff of refugee- and immigrant-serving organizations. It will be particularly relevant for staff whose roles involve program design (including as part of business development) and program implementation. This training may also be of interest to academics, including students, with research interests related to refugee service provision.

Why should I attend? After participating in this one-hour session, you will be able to:  

  • Describe the role of evidence-based practice in resettlement;
  • Describe the content and structure of the Switchboard Evidence Database;
  • Use the Switchboard Evidence Database to find interventions designed to improve client outcomes; and

Webinar Facilitator: Miriam Potocky, Ph.D., is Senior Research Associate at the International Rescue Committee and Professor of Social Work at Florida International University. She specializes in research on U.S. refugee resettlement. She is the author of numerous publications, including Best Practices for Social Work with Refugees and Immigrants (2nd edition, Columbia University Press, 2019).
