Partnerships for Trauma Recovery (PTR) joins the global movement to reduce the mental health gap by addressing the psychosocial impacts of trauma caused by war, torture, forced displacement, human trafficking, and persecution due to identity and beliefs.

We strive to narrow the gap by increasing the availability of culturally aware, trauma-informed, and linguistically accessible mental health services; and reducing the factors that cause trauma with trauma-informed policy advocacy.

Our model is built on three complementary components:

  • Mental Health Care for international survivors of human rights abuses
  • Clinical Training for globally-minded clinicians
  • Policy Advocacy for efforts aimed at reducing trauma

At our Mosaic Healing Center in the East Bay of San Francisco, we aspire to create a space that welcomes our clients and supports the clinicians and interpreters who serve them with openness and respect for each person’s culture and historical truth. Through culturally aware, trauma-informed and linguistically accessible mental health care, we support the healing of refugees, asylees, asylum seekers and human trafficking survivors. The Center also hosts one of the few multidisciplinary clinical training programs in the nation with an international trauma specialization, expanding capacity in the Bay Area to serve these populations.
